Alumni Membership Info

The Alumni Membership allows former students to remain connected and involved in Charity Homeschool after graduation. This membership is intended for young adults who have grown within our community and wish to continue contributing in a positive and supportive role.

Membership Term

  • Membership is annual, running from July 1 through June 30
  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and families may join at any time during the year


Membership Benefits

  • Continued involvement in the Charity Homeschool community
  • Opportunity to volunteer in co-op classes
  • Ability to volunteer at field trips (self-paid), fundraisers, and events
  • Eligibility to serve on planning committees
  • Invitation to attend Alumni Nights Out
  • Weekly newsletter with updates and event information
  • Access to the Charity Homeschool private Facebook group
  • Access to the members-only area of the website

Eligibility

  • Must have officially graduated from high school
  • Must have participated in Charity Homeschool for a minimum of two full years prior to graduating and remained in good standing
  • Alumni members age 18 and older must complete and pass a background check every three years
  • Agree to uphold the mission, values, statement of faith, and policies of Charity Homeschool
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have an adult sponsor who is an active member of the community
  • Membership must be approved by leadership and renewed annually

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Volunteer opportunities may include:
    • Assisting in co-op classes
      • Must contribute a minimum of 9 volunteer points per semester if at classes
        • Points must be earned by the Alumni
        • Points may count towards their family’s total points 
    • Supporting field trips (self-paid)
    • Helping with fundraisers and community events

Guidelines & Expectations

  • Alumni members may not serve on the Board of Directors
  • Alumni members are voting members
  • Must uphold the Charity Homeschool Community Standards and Statement of Faith
  • Must maintain appropriate, platonic boundaries with all student members
  • Must conduct themselves as adults, not students, in all interactions and settings
  • Alumni members ages 16–17 may only volunteer under appropriate adult supervision

Membership Fees

Membership fees help cover the cost of:

  • Group events
  • Insurance
  • Background checks
  • Website and administrative expenses

Pricing: 

  • $15 per year to cover a background check


Review and Modification

This policy may be reviewed and updated by the board as needed to protect the mission, unity, and safety of Charity Homeschool.
